ENTECH / SOLAR COOLING BENCH
LEADERS OF ALL KINDS OF INNOVATION
There aren't too many things worse (of course there are, but not in this scenario) than sitting on a hot bench in the hot sun on a hot day. If you were touring a state park on one of these days with your pamphlets and guides you might find yourself using them to shade or fan yourself. Voila, why not have the bench do that for you?
While somewhat disputable, the legend behind the inspiration of the Entech's Solar Cooling Bench begins something like that.
With these objectives, Entech created a Solar Powered, shaded bench that incorporates cooling fans in the overhead canopy. Using space age materials, the latest in silicon solar panels, and low power high velocity cooling fans, the Solar Powered Cooling Bench was born.
What better place for one of the world's most innovative benches than at NASA? Currently there are several installations of this bench at NASA's Rocket Garden at Kennedy Space Center (top right).
CONTINUING THE CONCEPT
Continuing with the "Green Theme," Entech is furthing the development with "Solar Cooling Bench 2.0" which will incorporate coordinated accessories that no Museum, State Park or Public area can be with out, such as these matching rubbish bins and bike stand.
Additionally, vertical space has been engineered to accept a number of possible integrations. In the depictions to the right are controls for the cooling and lighting that curious children could use to explore and play. Also engineered is space for lighted advertisements.
The benches are designed to be applicable in a variety of substrates, from concrete and asphalt to sod, sand and clay.
Each bench is made usind LEED processes and constructed of environmentally friendly materials and is available in a variety of colors.
If you drive a car with a sunroof and a CD changer, you'll appreciate the list of options available. An optional battery pack for extended use of the fans, LED motion-sensor-activated night time security lighting, a water mister that works in tandem with the high velocity cooling fans for advanced cooling, or a weather station module that shows current ambient weather conditions.
